The Sign visualises South Korea’s COVID-19 case data from the first confirmed case through roughly the first six months of the pandemic, before the country’s K-quarantine system took shape.
Public CSV records are read in Processing, which lists and replays the daily case counts and sends them over the OSC protocol. TouchDesigner receives the data through the protocol port and refines it. The virus form was modelled in 3D in Maya, and its movement is driven by the values in the data.
The work was made as a starting point for further visual and interactive studies of viruses.
